Today we are finishing up Pygmalion/"My Fair Lady," as well as all the questions that go along with it. Make sure you complete those and turn them in for 2 major grades!!
We will then do a quick review of Pygmalion and introduce the assessment, so that you may begin today. Please remember the take-home portion of your exam is due TOMORROW! (FRIDAY!) Today we are continuing Pygmalion/"My Fair Lady." If you are absent during any part of the film and wish to make up your missed questions, the film is available on Netflix, and you may also come in any morning this week to watch the section you missed.
Reminder that your Pygmalion dinner menu/main dish section is due Friday. We will begin the assessment on Thursday, and you will have Thursday and Friday class time to complete the other portions. Your extra credit film project is also due by Friday. Make sure you follow the directions in terms of uploading to YouTube or burning a DVD, and MAKE SURE that you TEST IT AT SCHOOL BEFORE THE DUE DATE!!!
Only one more Monday after today! Today we are starting our study of the story Pygmalion, although we will be primarily watching the film counterpart, "My Fair Lady." Notes & Handouts for today are below:
Last reminder - dystopia test, Unit 3 extra credit, and any missing work from the whole semester (especially projects/MAJOR assignments) MUST be in tomorrow, or the zero stands. You have had plenty of opportunities, and so I really hope you have taken advantage of them. Your Unit 4 assessment will be next Friday, 5/16. You must complete ONE section at home, which I will be assigning to you today (and in the handout below - entree part of the dinner menu). I am giving you this today so you have the option to knock it out over the weekend.
Today we are beginning our last unit! I am so glad we have the time to squeeze it in, because it's a good one! In this unit, we will be looking at George Bernard Shaw's play Pygmalion, the movie adaptation "My Fair Lady," and the ideas of proverbial success: rags to riches, don't judge a book by it's cover, etc. etc. etc. Here are the introductory notes and assignments for today:
These two days we are working on our Unit 3 assessment. We began it on Tuesday after a review, and you will have the entire block on Wednesday to complete it. See me if you were absent on Tuesday.
Remember, Friday is the absolute last day I will accept any work, as well as your Unit 3 extra credit.
Guys, A few things to wrap up the week: - Monday we are finishing Anthem. Ch. 11 & 12 questions (and any others you haven't turned in), as well as the Character Development Chart and the Personal Glossary, are all due on Monday. I am reattaching those documents below, in case you have lost anything and need a new one. - Tuesday (and probably into Wednesday) will be your assessment on Unit 3: Perception is Everything: Dystopia. You need to review all your notes, as well as all the texts, in order to be prepared for this unit. You will be able to use any of your work from the unit, but it will be impossible to finish unless you have done some preparation in advance. - Next Friday, May 9, is my "Drop Dead Day." Any work that you never turned in (projects/major assessments- i.e. 50 points and above) are due no later than that day. You are NOT allowed to turn in summer reading, snow day work, or any previous extra credit. After May 9, I will NOT accept it, and those zeros will stand. - May 9 is also the due date for your Unit 3 extra credit options (Travel Brochure and/or Creative Journals). May 16 is the due date for the Time Capsule Movie extra credit. The end is near!! Don't slack now!
