We have a busy week ahead of us in World Lit!
Monday & Tuesday we'll be reviewing FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE and some of the elements of fiction that students learned previously. This is a great opportunity to refresh our memories from last year, and figure out what we need to focus on more.
We'll then be reading some excerpts of Sandra Cisneros' The House on Mango Street, which is a collection of memoirs about growing up Mexican in America. Students will be working on a one-pager response to literature, which is DUE FRIDAY 8/23! See below for helpful handouts/more info. (Ex
Wednesday we're taking the first common assessment exam. All students have to take this test, so if absent on Wednesday, they may be pulled out Thursday to make it up.
