Warm-Up: We're going to start by brainstorming Good Writing vs. Bad Writing.... just to get the juices flowing. Then we'll look at how to give a peer constructive advice when you do peer edits -- how to point out positive things (good writing) and give constructive criticism for negative things or places where improvement can be made (bad writing).
Work Session: You'll have about 45 minutes to write your in-class essays that we started yesterday (about life lessons in "God Grew Tired of Us" and other texts we have read this semester. Then you'll switch with a peer to do a brief peer editing session.
Summarizer: After reviewing the edits made by one of your friendly classmates, you'll identify three things you can work on immediately in your writing. YOU WILL NEED TO PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THESE THREE THINGS IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF WEEKS!!
